Position Profile

In this role, your key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of the books of accounts across the board, managing tax compliance, driving budgeting and enforcing adherence to budgets across the GF ecosystem. 

What you will do

Functions managed by you include:

  • Financial reporting – compliance & stewardship.
  • Management & supervision of the departmental resources to drive process improvements.
  • Influences positive changes to, and compliance with, non-accounting business processes that affect financial reporting.
  • Customer credit & cash management.
  • Avoid & prevent the realization of risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Execute multiple audits.

Accountabilities:

  • Own accurate and timely financial reporting,
  • Produce timely and accurate month-end closes, 
  • FP&A Analysis, 
  • Drive budgeting, actual-to-budget analysis, and enforce adherence to budgets.

What You Will Bring to the role

Your Experience

  • Accounting expertise (6+ yrs.).
  • Establishing and implementation of Internal Controls mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with executing tax payments and tax returns in Canada & US.
  • Experience managing multiple entities/ledgers, intercompany transactions & financial consolidations.
  • Experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing scale-up environment.

Your Technical skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (or another similar accounting program).
  • Familiarity and proficiency with an HRIS such as ADP is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS office and Google Suite programs.
  • Tech savviness – ability to learn/navigate platforms quickly and effectively.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Your Education

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • CPA certification is highly desirable; OR
  • Combination of experience and relevant training
